DEDICATED TECHNOLOGY AND SERVICE SECTION

Victron and Studer.
Expertise that did not disappear.

BESS is the website's primary market focus, while Victron and Studer remain a distinct competence. We diagnose and service installed systems, retrofit batteries, secure remote monitoring, engineer automation and decide when equipment should be retained or replaced.

A clear place in the portfolio

Not utility-scale container BESS.
Controlled ESS, microgrids and long-life service.

Victron and Studer are not presented as a universal answer to industrial megawatt-hour storage. Their strengths are modular low-voltage and hybrid systems, critical loads, generators, off-grid operation, remote sites and modernisation of the installed base.

01

Installed-system service

Hardware and firmware inventory, as-built single-line, batteries, protection, temperatures, alarms, remote access and fault history.

02

Phased upgrade

Battery, BMS, GX/Xcom, metering or power-stage replacement without discarding components that still perform a defensible function.

03

New ESS or microgrid

Only where scale, fault levels, certification, service and operating scenarios fit the platform. Large BESS requires other architectures.

Victron Energy

Powerful system building blocks when roles are explicit.

Quattro and Multi products form the power layer, GX connects meters and devices, VRM provides oversight and Node-RED adds automation. Parameters, certification and supported functions are qualified for the exact model, country, firmware and topology.

Studer Innotec

Swiss platforms for robust autonomy and installed-base service.

Xtender remains important in long-running hybrid and off-grid installations. next1 and next3 provide a route to newer controls. Xcom, RCC and MPPT devices are assessed inside one architecture including the generator and battery.

Automation may optimise. It must not bypass protection.

Victron Venus OS Large and Node-RED can combine metering, forecasts, tariffs, connection limits, generators and maintenance schedules. Venus OS 3.70 added virtual switches, extended Lynx Smart BMS NG cell information and security improvements including login protection and read-only Modbus-TCP. Venus OS 3.70 ↗

A practical flow can update a demand ceiling every 15 minutes, pre-charge before a forecast peak, defer a non-critical load and fall back to a fixed safe setpoint when metering is lost. BMS current limits, electrical protection and emergency shutdown remain outside the user flow.

For Studer, local inverter and battery control is likewise separated from Xcom or EMS supervision. Changes are versioned, tested offline, logged and reversible. Remote service uses individual identities, MFA, restricted roles and time-bounded access.

An evidence decision

Retain, upgrade or replace?

Age alone is not a reason to replace equipment and a familiar logo is not a reason to retain it. Safety, support, documentation, measured function and remaining lifecycle cost decide.

RETAIN

Support and documentation exist and the system safely delivers the measured duty.

Configuration backup, baseline, service plan and critical spares.

UPGRADE

The core remains useful while the battery, interface or monitoring constrains operation.

A phased retrofit with interface testing and a deterministic safe state.

REPLACE

Support, safe integration or a commercially defensible repair is no longer available.

Migration plan, data continuity and acceptance of the replacement architecture.

Service workflow

Read the system before changing hardware.
