Sustainability data

Energy data, VSME and practical ESG evidence

Even when full sustainability reporting is not mandatory, customers, banks and management may still require consistent evidence about energy use and improvement projects.

Use operational data already needed by the project

Invoices, interval metering, PV production, exported electricity and fuel data form a stronger starting point than narrative claims. Define boundaries and units once so that finance, operations and sustainability teams use the same numbers.

Separate measured results from estimates

Record whether a figure comes from a meter, invoice, engineering model or supplier declaration. For solar and BESS projects, preserve the baseline, assumptions and calculation version used for the investment decision.

Keep the process proportionate

A smaller company rarely needs a complex data platform at the beginning. It needs named owners, a repeatable annual dataset, controlled calculations and evidence that can answer customer or lender questions without rebuilding the story each time.
