WECO batteries: diagnostics, service and replacement options

Why we no longer offer new WECO batteries
Service experience with some previously supplied modules contributed to our decision to stop offering new WECO batteries. We dealt with cell-voltage differences, operating interruptions and warranty claims. This describes our experience and commercial decision, not a conclusion about every model, batch or installation.
Historical projects remain in our references. We offer owners of existing systems an assessment, diagnostics within an agreed scope and recommended next steps. Ending new sales does not itself change existing contractual obligations.
Similar symptoms can have different causes
A shutdown or inconsistent state-of-charge indications do not by themselves diagnose a manufacturing defect. We need event history, exact models, firmware, configuration and values around the event. We distinguish cell or module issues from charging conditions, control, communications and interconnection.
Experience with an older module cannot automatically be applied to the current 5K3 EVO model. Equally, a catalogue or certificate does not explain the cause of an individual shutdown. The scope of evidence for that case is what matters.
What an initial assessment involves
- Describe the battery and inverter models, installation age and symptoms.
- Agree a suitable channel for available logs and documentation.
- Establish what can be reviewed remotely and what requires a qualified site inspection.
- Compare configuration changes, repair, a warranty claim and possible replacement.
Replacement requires verified integration
A different brand is not a universally interchangeable module for an existing battery string. A replacement design must check voltage ranges, communications, protection, mechanical arrangements and system warranty conditions. The result may retain the inverter while replacing the entire battery bank, rather than mixing unverified modules.
We do not assume a new battery is always better value than repair. A recommendation should state costs, constraints, uncertainty and implementation responsibility.
